What the research says

In a trial of 228 adults with neck pain, 60-minute sessions two or three times a week were 3–5 times more likely to bring a real improvement in neck function than no massage. 30 minutes wasn't enough. Sherman et al., 2014

Training recovery

For runners, lifters and anyone in a heavy training block. Book within a day or two of your hardest session, tell me what's coming up next, and I'll balance deep work with mobility so you go into it moving freely.

What the research says

Across 11 trials, massage after strenuous exercise reduced muscle soreness, with the strongest effect at 48 hours. In a separate controlled trial, focused soft tissue work added 4.7° of hamstring flexibility on average. Guo et al., 2017 · Hopper et al., 2005

Lower back

Long days sitting load the lower back, hips and glutes. I work all three, not just the spine, for easier movement when you stand up.

What the research says

A Cochrane review of 25 trials (3,096 people) found short-term improvements in back pain and function. The evidence quality is low, so I'll always be straight with you about what to expect. Furlan et al., 2015

Questions

Does deep tissue massage hurt?

It shouldn't. Deep work is firm, but if you're bracing against it, it isn't working. You set your pressure before I arrive, and you can ask for more or less at any point.

How long should I book?

60 minutes for one or two focus areas, 90 minutes to work deep everywhere you need it. For neck and back tension, regular 60-minute or longer sessions work best.

Can you come to my home or hotel?

Yes. I bring the table, same-day until 1am, with you in as little as 90 minutes.

Is it the same as sports massage?

They overlap. Sports Massage (Kinetic Recovery) adds more stretching and mobility around your training; Deep Tissue focuses on firm, sustained pressure head to toe.

Is it professional massage only?

Yes. Method. offers professional, therapeutic massage only.
